A typical morning

Here is a typical morning at the Thomas home...

Dad gets up with the kids at about 7:00 am. I have been getting up later since I am up several times during the night feeding Boone. He then takes Joelle for a walk, a bike ride, or out to swing in the back yard. Joelle is Daddy's girl and follow's him around all morning until he leave's for work. She prefers him over anyone else.

Boone cries because he is not being held or nursed while mom is busy being a mom to three other kids and a wife to Tyler and all the other things she is when she is not just being a mom to Boone. This is all very hard for him to understand, and lets us all know just how unfair the world is when he has to be set down some place by himself for awhile.

Dane comes downstairs, very onery, and says "Can I have some cerial...I'm STARVING TO DEATH!!!"...then once he gets a little food in his belly is back to his charming and happy self...and for anyone who knows me well they will know he is very obviously MY son! Ha ha!

Cody likes to start his day off right by playing wii...and asking if he can "try the new cool gumball machine" that the boys got when Grandma took them to Chuck E. Cheese's. He can take or leave eating breakfast...very obviously Tyler's son...how anyone can wake up and not have to eat first thing just boggles my mind!

Hangin' out

Here is just a random picture of Boone that I took while we were just hanging out on the patio.

Here is my sweet guy asleep on our bed.

Thank you Grandma!!!

I don't know how we ever would have survived after Boone's birth if Grandma Stevens hadn't come to help us out...and boy did she help out! She cleaned, and cooked, and grocery shopped, and did laundry, and played with, bathed, and fed the kids, and did everything we needed and more. She even endured a trip to Chuck E. Cheese's! Tyler and I were even able to go on a lunch date to Anemia's and had a great time. Thank you Grandma for taking such good care of us. We love you and really appreciated all your help.

My silly girl

It is so much fun to have Joelle as a part of our family. She is so sweet and silly...she brings us so much joy. Here are a few picture showing off her adorable antics.

Making sure there were absolutely no more goldfish crackers left...they are her favorite snack after all!

She insisted on eating this huge tortilla...I gave her half of one and she pitched a big fit until I gave her a whole one...and then she was so happy as you can see in the next few pictures...and being her silly self she wanted a picture taken of her laying on the floor with her prized tortilla.

Here she is...Miss America! She wanted to wear her dads favorite "Hanging around the house" outfit. On her first try she had her head through a sleave and her whole body in one leg of the shorts...isn't she just the cutest little thing?

Pics for the Grandparents

Here are some more pictures for the grandparents who don't get to be here to love on this little guy. Pictures will have to do.

I can't believe I caught this smile. And look at him! Three weeks old and look how he can hold his head up...so it was only for a few seconds...still, I love this picture!

I like this picture because it shows how tiny Boone is. He still likes to sleep for long stretches during the day and eat every two hours during the night. I'm exhausted! I've got to get his days and nights switched around soon.

This is Boone's favorite "Binkie". It's the one they give them at the hospital. He doesn't like any of the others I bought. It's so big, it almost covers his whole face. I can't believe he is already 3 weeks old. We had his portraits taken at Kiddie Kandids yesterday. I won't get them back for a few weeks though.

Other things

Although it seems like our lives are revolving entirely around a 7 pound bundle of love the kids have been doing other things besides just holding their new brother.

A pictures worth...

A picture truely is worth a thousand words...you can really see on their faces how much Joelle and Cody are enjoying their new baby brother.

A baby burito

I thought Boone looked like a baby burrito all wrapped up this way...Tyler said he looks like a blanket with a head.

The "Awful portraits".

When you are still in the hospital a photographer comes around and takes your babies first portrait. I always buy them because they are so AWFUL! I laughed so hard when I first saw Dane's picture. The photographer spiked Dane's hair up (I don't know why) and he was sticking his tongue out and he looked so squishy faced...but to me he was still the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.

Dane
When I saw Cody's picture I thought "Well no wonder he popped right out...his head is shaped like an egg with cheeks!" I was expecting him to look more like Dane and was surprised when he had such a different look about him.

Cody

With Joelle I was so excited to be having a baby girl. I even brought some little bows to the hospital in anticipation of the traditional "Awful portrait"...but I have to admit after seeing this picture I thought "I sure hope she gets cuter"...isn't that terrible? LOL! I thought she was beautiful but wasn't sure if she was "cute". Of course now I think she's just the cutest thing EVER!

Joelle
When I first saw Boone I thought he was adorable...but then after they brought him back from the nursery I thought, "Well, he's not that cute at all, he just looks like a grumpy old man, and he doesn't look like any of my other kids". I'm going to blame it on my crazy hormones because a little while later I was back to thinking he was the most adorable baby I'd ever seen. I chose this picture because when Tyler and I were first looking him over we both said "Look how big his hands are!" and "Look how long his fingers are!" You can really see how big his hands are in this picture. He gets it from me, I have really big hands too.

Joelle meets Boone

Joelle meeting Boone for the first time.
Joelle has been a great big sister so far. When she saw Boone for the first time she said "It's a baby! Oh, a baby!" Now she, along with her brother's, are constantly checking on Boone. "Where's baby?" and "Hold him. Hold it!" are frequently heard around our house these days.

My three boys

My three boys!
Oh my gosh! I have 3 boys!!!
Cody and Dane came with their dad to pick me up at the hostital...they were so cute with their new brother. Cody came in and looked at him and said "Oh! There's 'Boonie pants'...he's so cute! (Where did that nickname come from?) And then they just wanted to make the bed go up and down.
