Car wash

The other day it was hot out and Dane was bored so
Tyler had him come out and help him wash his car.
Dane had a great time as you can see.

How refreshing!

Today on the way home from church Dane said
"Hurry up Mom, we're going to be late! We need
to hurry home and have some hot chocolate so
we can cool off!"

"Boy..you got a panty on your head!"

One of my favorite movies is Raising Arizona.
There is a scene from that movie where Nicolas Cage's
character puts a pair of pantyhose over his head so he can
rob a convenience store for a package of diapers. The store
clerk says to him "Boy...you got a panty on your head!" I
was thinking about that today and remembered I had
these pictures of my silly boys.

Where does he get this stuff?

Today Dane told me he wanted "two thousand crackers and 3 sandwiches" for lunch. So I gave him 6 crackers and cut his sandwich into 3 pieces. When I handed him his plate he said "Order up!" Then he pointed at his crackers and asked "is that two thousand?" I said, "Yep. Pretty close." And he was happy.

The other day Tyler gave Dane a kiss as he was leaving for work and when his beard stubble scrapped his cheek, Dane said "Ouch! Where'd you get that haystack!"

Immediately after putting Dane in a time out yesterday he said "That's it! I'm calling the police!" Talking into an imaginary police radio he said, "Police! Come quick...my mommy is a bad mommy and needs to be arrested! OK! Over and out! The police are on their way Mom and they're going to arrest you!!!" It was really hard not to crack up.

New blog background

I'm working on a new background for our blog, so for now I'm just using one of the generic ones.
I loved the mountain biker in our old background but it was hard to see the picures.

No nap!

Every once in awhile Cody will refuse
to take a nap. Then around dinner time
I'll think "Why did it get so quiet? What
are those boys up to? And I will go looking
for them. I will often find Cody passed out
someplace. This is a picture from last week.
I will be adding a video from about a month ago when
I found him asleep upstairs underneath a
book!

Memory Tag- You're All It

MEMORY GAME

1. As a comment on this post, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Funny video of Dane singing ( in his underpants) about
the sun and the moon. He made the song up himself.

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed...

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed...one fell off and bumped his head! Yesterday was the worst day for accidents. Cody got the worst of it. The day started out with Cody going into our bathroom to visit with Tyler while he was taking a shower, and he cut a big chunk out of his thumb with my razor. Then while I was nursing Joelle I heard Cody going out the garage door to visit Tyler while he was mowing the lawn. I had to get to him fast before he got out of the garage because I didn't have a shirt on. I laid Joelle on the couch and ran after Cody. Meanwhile, Joelle fell off the couch! I found Dane on the floor trying to comfort her. I felt so sick!!! Then...yes, it just keeps getting better... at the grocery store I ran into Dane with the cart and knocked him over. Later that evening the boys were jumping on the bed and Cody fell off (or was pushed) and he hit the dresser with his mouth. Two of his teeth just about went through his bottom lip. I thought we were going to have to go to the emergency room but the bleeding finally stopped. After he felt better he started spinning around the room and fell onto a big toy train and scratched up his side really bad. Then this morning he did a backward somersault down the stairs and hit his head on the banister. Oh my gosh!!! Enough already!

The Cody olympics!

Cody has really been enjoying watching
the 2008 Summer Olympics, especially the men's
gymnastics. Can you tell? He also really likes
swimming and biking (of course! He is his father's son).
When he sees the swimmers he says "Splash!"and
he said his first sentence on Sunday, it was "I see a bike!"

Smile!

Joelle hit a major milestone today.
We were out on our back patio visiting
with a friend. Tyler was sweeping the patio
as we talked and for whatever reason she
thought that was just wonderful. She
giggled at her dad for about 5 minutes
off and on. It was so adorable!!! Wish I
had it on video.

More 4th of July pics

Joelle wondering why she is up so late.

Cody was afraid of the fireworks at first, but he quickly got the hang of it. By the time they were done he was saying "WOW! POW!".

Dane sitting with the Spencer family. They said it was really fun to watch fireworks with Dane. I think their exact words were "He's just soooo enthusiastic!" Anything loud and over the top...that's for our Dane.

Before and after

Here are a couple of the bigger improvements we've had done to our house here in Texas. We spend a great deal of our free time playing out back with the kids. So having a nice backyard is important to us.

Our nasty old fence before....

our beautiful new fence after.

Our back patio before....

and our patio and cover after.

Now we just need to get the lawn taken care of and a big swing-set for the kids and we'll be all set.
Oh, and a pool too...wouldn't that be nice!!!!
(Only in my wildest dreams!)

What's in a nose...?

After preschool the boys will get one of those little Dum Dum lollypops from their teachers. And they like to eat them on the drive home. About

4 weeks ago when I went to get Cody out of his car seat he handed me his stick and it was only about as half as long as it should be. I looked everywhere for the other half but I couldn't find it. I thought to myself..."hummm, I hope he didn't stick that up his nose, nah! He probably chewed on it until it was soft and then swallowed it. " I looked up his nose and couldn't see anything so I forgot all about that thought. About a week later he got a runny nose on one side and his breath started smelling really bad. I ended up taking him to the doctor and she asked me if he might have stuck anything up his nose. I told her about the stick and she looked up his nose and couldn't see anything. She prescribed an antibiotic and said if it didn't get better, and wasn't just a sinus infection, we would have to put a scope up his nose. Well, one night a couple of days ago Cody was being silly about taking his medicine and started laughing and shaking his head back and forth really hard. Awhile later Tyler came and found me in the office and said "Look what I just stepped on!!! It was on the kitchen floor!" Cody had shook his head so hard that he finally dislodged the lollypop stick he'd had clear up in his nasal cavity for 3 1/2 weeks!!!!

A GOOD BOY

The other day while Cody and Joelle where taking naps I decided to tell Dane what a nice job he was doing playing quietly. This was his response..."YES! And I didn't yell or crash my toys or take my trains in and throw them at Cody while he was sleeping!"
